LoudQUIETloud available now!

LoudQUIETloud: a film about the Pixes has been released on DVD.  The film documents the Pixies successful 2004 reunion tour, and provides an engaging, behind-the-scenes look into one of the most influential bands of our time.  The reviews have been incredibly positive:

"It's not just Santiago's dove-in-a-Cuisinart riffs or Black's keening, timing-belt howl that makes this doc such a blast – it's the downright amazing revelation that, after all these years, the Pixies sound better than ever."

- The Austin Chronicle

"...this behind-the-scenes documentary is revelatory as it follows the group's first awkward steps toward enjoying its legacy."

- Paste Magazine

"loudQUIETloud is a scream, and easily one of the better films about the business of rocking out.  If you're a Pixies fan don't waste any time, hasten to the theatre..."

-The Tyee

"...excellent, exceptionally well-informed documentary."

- The Seattle Times
"The Pixies seem to question, seriously, whether anybody will care about the show, as if an army of thirtysomethings wouldn't leave the kids with the dog to hear Thompson howl in Spanish ...Of course, the tour sold out venues in minutes."

- San Francisco Weekly
"...if you've ever a heard a soft intro give way to a thunderous chorus in the last two decades, you've been touched by that band you've never heard of."

- MTV Movies

LoudQUIETloud is now available everywhere.

Pixies to record a new album!

According to NME, Charles Thompson has confirmed the Pixies will start work in January on their first studio album since 1991's Trompe le Monde.

Speaking about the album, Black explained that the band still have a lot of work to do before an album appears.

"We're rehearsing in January, if we can persuade Kim to come out of her house," said
Thompson. "We offered to go to her but we figured if we book the rehearsals she'll show up. Since we got back together we've played almost everywhere we can. I know we like playing and everyone likes touring together, so to keep doing that and not record anything is kind of like being a county fair band. We don't want to do that, so the only thing we can do is become a vital band again. So it's just a matter of doing it, I guess."

Though the Pixies have not recorded a new studio album in fifteen years, they recently released a live DVD, Acoustic: Live in Newport,  and the Pixies documentary Loudquietloud: A Film About the Pixies will be released worldwide the week of November 6th.
